Guides, Whatsapp, and Google Maps
SpainActive wants more guides at the tournament; they will all use the chat application whatsapp and Google Maps (iphone). Make sure you have these on your phone so that we can quickly answer your questions and send you directions, and so you can easily find your way.
The Rules: Each year, the Granollers Cup publishes the rules in the tournament magazine; they follow the regulations of the IHF and the RFEBM (Spanish national handball federation). Click here for an example of the page from the magazine.

Clister: An important rule for Norwegian teams is that the use of clister is permitted only in specific categories (JM/JF and JUM/JUF). Younger teams are allowed to use clister if both teams agree to it.
Ball sizes by age group:
50-52 cm - CF - IM - IF
54-56 cm - JUF - JF - CM
58-60 cm - JUM - JM
Camphor:
- The match schedule will be ready in June. We will send you a weekly schedule containing all match times and bus departure times before you arrive.
- Matches will be played on both indoor and outdoor courts, with one match taking place in the main Olympic arena.
- 2 x 15 minutes.
- Preliminary rounds in groups of 4–7 teams. There is no B-tournament.
- A minimum of 5 matches is guaranteed in the handball tournament.
- We plan to depart from the hotel 2 hours before the match starts.
The opening ceremony:
The opening ceremony takes place on Wednesday. All the teams meet in the main square in Granollers, followed by a parade through the city. Upon arrival at the main tournament arena, there is a show featuring lights, dancers, and other performances.

Health insurance and injuries during the tournament
If a player is injured during the tournament, they must have private insurance to present at the hospital or be prepared to pay in cash. Sports-related injuries are not covered by the European Health Insurance Card. Ensure that every player or coach has the players' health insurance details available in case of injury during the tournament.
European Health Insurance Card and copy of passport
All travelers should print out their European Health Insurance Card and a copy of their passport. You must carry them with you at all times during the trip. Here is the link needed to obtain the card online:

Travel with minors and other travel information
Minors who travel with an identity document and are not accompanied by a parent must have permission from one of their parents.

Passports or ID cards during the tournament
We generally recommend that one responsible person keeps a copy of all players' passports or ID cards during the tournament. This could be a photo saved on your phone. This way, you do not need to carry the actual documents with you to the tournament. It is always a good idea to have a photo of your document in case it gets lost.
Hotel Dining and Allergies
All the hotels feature a large buffet. The food will be labeled, but if you are unsure about any ingredients, you can speak with the dining hall manager. Some hotels offer gluten-free meals, so it is best to check with the reception desk upon arrival.
Barcelona Trip
SpainActive offers a trip to Barcelona either before or after the tournament. We will drop your group off in the city center and pick you up at the same location. You will spend approximately six hours in the city center.
It is impossible to plan an excursion during the tournament.
